Kleet Frater Killian vox + drums basse guitar Lokation: Costa del Croydon Influences: Nobody current, it's all rubbish innit? Favourite drum sound: Modern Love off Let's Dance by David Bowie. Anything off a Police album. Favourite guitar solo: Hello - Lionel Ritchie Producers you'd most like to work with: Langer & Winstanley. Stock Aitken & Waterman. Last book you read: Easy chords for guitar vol I & II Best piece of advice: If you don't, some other **** will Hello Kleet here and this is my attempt at a proper serious important 'rock biog', cos apparently what I usually write here is too jokey... The sordid story so far... I started Von Kleet in my hometown of Costa del Croydon...mainly to relieve myself of terminal boredom and death-by-heat magazine. I had a bunch of songs recorded at home on my trusty dictaphone (thanks argos) and some stuff I'd put down on my ultra hi-tech 4-track tape recorder, then one day I found a proper studio and went down to re-record it all. I played all the instruments myself - drums first, then guitar, bass & then vocals. Why? Cos I have no friends. Just kidding...well it's quicker innit? and I had no band at the time. Anyway, the 1st demo 'Junkie' got played on XFM Unsigned by Claire Sturgess. Gary Crowley at BBC London took a shine to us and played the follow-up EP...it also won the PlayMusic Magazine Best Unsigned Artist award. Then I had a pot noodle. I realised I needed to find some band members so the songs could be done properly live (plus playing solo was doing my head in). Luckily I knew just the gents for the job... SO, when you come to a Kleet show you will see me singing and playing the drums at the same time (like Karen Carpenter), Killian the boy wonder is on guitar and the dapper Mr Frater is on the basse. They are brilliant and we have showers and jokes together after gigs like footballers do. We will treat you real nice at shows. Come up to us, we will actually speak to you. Exchange digits with us and we’ll be calling you up in the middle of the night asking you to come and hang out with us at the kebab shop. The End ~kleet xx |
